Our Story
Byng was built on a simple belief: property owners deserve a renovation partner who treats their buildings with the same care they would give their own.
What started as a family business in Ontario, Canada more than 75 years ago has grown into one of North America’s largest integrated renovation platforms, built on decades of relationships, hard-won expertise, and a commitment to doing the work right.
In 2025, Unity Partners made a strategic investment in Byng, opening a new chapter of continental growth. Under CEO Scott Bunker’s leadership, Byng acquired Vigil Contracting, a proven partner with 26+ years of experience across 20+ municipalities, and RC Legnini Company, adding 50+ years of senior living, multi-family, and faith-based unit turnover expertise in the Northeast U.S.

Founded as a family contracting business in Ontario, Canada.
1990s to 2000s
Expanded into multifamily, building long-term partnerships with major REITs across Ontario, Canada.
2010s
Invested in vertical integration: deep production partnerships, warehousing infrastructure, proprietary ERP.
2021
Peerage Realty Partners acquires a partnership interest, providing capital for growth.
2025
Unity Partners strategic investment. Acquisition of Vigil Contracting (Maryland / D.C. Metro) and RC Legnini Company (Northeast U.S.).
2026
Operating 9 regional offices across Ontario, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., with continued North American expansion underway.
